Also on the matter of incorrect weapons handling:
There is an old 2000ad comic short story in that a wizard opens up a time portal to conjure up a weapon from the future to save the land and defeat some evil knight or some such... the sting in the tail is that the last panel has him shouldering the summoned thompson just like that expecting the 'club to fly of the end'.

First outing in Brit kit, have since sorted some things out, (namely the gaiters are on the wrong legs and i have another way to tuck the trousers into them which is better)

Looks good!

That is great.
Seriously it is really great. Exactly what is needed as a Brit impression. I won't even say first Brit impression because there is absolutely no need to do more to it. From now on it is only the fun stuff you get to do to it (badges and hats).
Battledress, check
Webbing, check
Tommy Helmet, check
Wooden Rifle, check (OK, that was just my one, but still)
Everyone else should take heed, all of us - this is how you do it, how you get out there to games.
Being young, slim and looking good in uniform, git! ![]()

better by design

There's a slight issue with smartness around the waist... but I'm really being nit picky (and potentially hypocritical at times as the waist area of BD is a right bugger). It's certainly right in every other respect.
Well boots could do with being improved.
As I said, nit picky!
Very well done and as Wladek says, it's what is actually needed for a brit impression.

No there isnt, totally correct for combat as worn.

Meh, tis true I suppose...
Cheers guys, much appreciated!
I'll be getting some ammo boots once I have the funds to finish it off.
Komrade, what site is this? Looks like Xsite High Wycombe safe zone!
Also your kit looks good mate,
I have pretty much the same impression just havent done a game as Brit yet! (or another nation which had roughly the same uniform requirements!)

The site is actually Spartan Airsoft near Lulsgate (Bristol airport), but then again most safe zones look very similar! ![]()

Friend of mine (writes english poorly) asked opionions/advice on his Afrika korps-kit:

Why do you always carry that umbrella?
-Bad memory. Never could remember the password. Knew no Jerry would carry one. Had to prove I was an Englishman, you see.
A bridge too far
Not a bad start although an interesting choice for Finland.
The uniform looks very dark at the moment, even for a brand new tropical uniform. Tell him to chuck it in the wash a few times to fade it down and then leave it somewhere in the sun (tricky this time of year I know). He does appear to be missing his collar litzen too.
He'll want some paint on the helmet as DAK helmets would have been camouflaged to suit the desert. Either RAL 8000 or 8020 would be the ideal. Don't use and decals though, they were usually painted over and DAK ones are pure fantasy. If he doesn't want to paint it for whatever reason then make a cover for it from a hessian sand bag.
He also has his gaiters on the wrong feet, the straps should point backwards on the outside of the ankle. When doing DAK however you're probably better off without them as most of them went without. Simply tie up the bottom of the trousers with the leg ties.
Webbing wise it looks ok although like the uniform a tad new, tell him to roll around in it a bit more or else leave it outside for a while. I'd also get some oil on the leather wook too. He may want to paint the metal work on his y-straps as typically they were either grey or bare metal not black but it depends how picky he is. His webbing is also sitting a little low, the belt should sit above the next button up, that way he can access his lower jacket pockets.
I think thats it for now.
It may seem a lot but its mostly minor tweaks and a case of it looking too new. Once they're done it should look good.
